
Al Wasl is the champion of the President's Cup for Open Water Swimming
Al Wasl team crowned the President's Cup for Open Water Swimming, which was held at the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, which hosts the tournament every year, as part of the country's celebrations of the UAE National Day, and the tournament witnessed the participation of more than 75 swimmers in the championship.
Al Wasl crowned the general ranking of the tournament, and finished second in Al Jazira Club, then Al Nasr Club, and Al Ain Club came fourth, followed by Emirates Heritage Club, then Dibba Al Hisn Club.
Jumah Al Balushi, Vice President of the Federation, thanked the Abu Dhabi Sports Club. The Navy and to the club's president, Salem Al-Rumaithi, for hosting the championship and for its keenness to participate in the federation's national celebrations.
In the races, Salem Ghalib from Al Wasl team won in the 13-14 year-old stage for a distance of 3 km, and in the 15-16 year-old stage, Yusef Al Hammadi from Al Wasl Club also won first place in the 5 km race, and in the 16 years and older stage for a distance of 7 km, Al Wasl swimmer Farouk Mohammed won First place, and the tournament witnessed the participation of the UAE national team girls for the first time, Mahra Abdullah Al Shehhi came first, then her sister Maha Abdullah Al Shehhi, who are from Al Nasr Club.
