A citizen coach reveals the secrets of Al Wasl's stardom in swimming
The coach of Al Baraem and Water Polo team at Al Wasl Club, Rashid Al Mas, kidnapped the lights in the Emirates Cup for Al Baraem for swimming, through his style and dealings with his young swimmers, especially as he won the Emirates Swimming Cup for Al Baraem through the most important stages, which is the 10-year category, where he achieved nine gold medals in the middle 400 male and female swimmers participate in 25 clubs and academies.
Cleopatra Academy came second with one gold, one silver and three bronze medals, followed by Al-Nasr Club in third place with one gold.
During the tournament that was held at Hamdan Sports Complex, Rashid gathered his young swimmers and kept talking to them and playing with them while waiting for a relay race, and some young swimmers from other clubs and academies asked him to join them, and he immediately agreed and gathered all the children next to him.
Coach Rashid Al-Mas is always the talk of swimming championships with his constant presence between his players and coaches and at the coronation podiums, and he portrays his swimmers who have been the most controlling of races in recent years, and the most supportive of the national teams. Al-Mas told Emirates Today: “We were waiting for the time of the relay race, so I deliberately sat down with the children to talk to them and know their ambitions and studies, and play with them the game (Saturday Sunday), which is a popular game for young people, and I always do this even in the club to break the boredom and the routine and overcome the training difficulties. "Every day, especially since I am very keen with them in training by getting close to them through playing and exchanging conversations. During the session, some children asked to join us and we welcomed them." He added: “The (Saturday Sunday) game is one of the games popular with young players and is widespread among the players, and I seek to approach them on a daily basis because of the strength of training today, as young swimmers between 8-11 years old train two hours a day for six days, for a distance of up to 3.5 - 4 kilometers swimming daily. The first reward and the goal of training for us is to protect young people from staying up late, electronic games and deviating to other destinations, so sport is very important and protects children from illness and fatigue due to new games.
Al-Mas stressed that the Al Wasl club's interest in swimming is a great deal, in terms of clothes and rewards at some times, which may be a reason for the club's control over Emirati swimming in recent years, and pointed out that Al Wasl swimming under 10 years includes nearly 30 swimmers, apart from the larger stages. There is great interest in the game from the club and the officials.
Al-Nasr won the nine-year stage, the All-Star Academy in the eight-year stage, and the Cleopatra Academy in the seven-year stage.
As for the girls' competitions, the All-Star Academy won the 10-year stage with nine golds, while the Apex Academy won the 7-9 years, and Cleopatra won the eight-year stage.
